Problem Solving Competitions
High School Problem Solving Competition
The tenth annual High School Problem Solving Competition will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 5:25 - 7:35 PM. All high school students are eligible to participate.
Contestants are given 5-6 problems for 2 hours. This competition is not multiple choice; full solutions/proofs are expected. The first place winner is invited to participate in the Adnan H. Sabuwala PSC. The top three scorers will be recognized at the Department of Mathematics Day, which will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, and awarded prizes.

Adnan H. Sabuwala Problem Solving Competition
The seventh annual Adnan H. Sabuwala Problem Solving Competition will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00-6:10 PM. All Fresno State students (including part-time and high school students taking classes at Fresno State this semester) are eligible to participate.
Dr. Adnan H. Sabuwala was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics from 2008-2019. He was passionate about mathematics problem solving and promoting problem solving competitions for students of all ages. This competition is held in his honor.
