Department of Mathematics

Undergraduate Research

Would you be interested in working on a research problem in mathematics or statistics under the supervision of a faculty member? Would you like to present the results of your research at a regional or national conference? This is all possible, and it has already been done by many undergraduate students in our department.

All faculty members in the Department of Mathematics are interested in working on research projects with students. Please see the list of faculty with their areas of interest.

Hear about Dr. Mario Banuelos' work and his work with students at Research in the Math Department.

If you are an undergraduate student and think you might be interested in working on a research project, you are invited to contact any of our Department's faculty members to find out more about possible projects. Past projects have included topics from knot theory, game theory, graph theory, analysis, algebra,  statistics, geometry, number theory, and applied mathematics.

If you have further questions regarding undergraduate research, please talk to your advisor or contact Dr. Khang Tran (khangt@csufresno.edu), Chair of the Student Research Committee.
