A short description of annual events sponsored by the Department of Mathematics. 

Event Details

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to engage with the members of the Mathematics Department by playing games, listening to students talk about math, and showcasing talents of all sorts.

Mathematics Day

Calculus competition for Central Valley high school, community college, and undergraduate students. Students compute integrals for prizes. Held once every spring semester.

Integration Bee

Enrichment program for children in grades 3-12 interested in learning advanced mathematics.

Fresno Math Circle

Annual day of mathematics competitions for high school and middle school students from Central California. Held in April. Trophies awarded.

Math Field Day

Annual Math Problem Solving competition for students in grades 1-12.

Math Kangaroo

Event to welcome first-time freshmen and transfer math majors to the department.

Competition for undergraduate students. Held in November.

Competition

Annual national mathematics competition for undergraduate students. Local prizes awarded.

Putnam Competition

Celebrated nationwide, Sonia Kovalevsky Day engages female high school students in fun-filled mathematics activities.
