Department of Mathematics

Department of Mathematics Day (DMD)

This year we are very excited to bring back some of our events in person. DMD will be held in a hybrid model where the morning events will be virtual with our afternoon events being held in person.

The DMD is a day of student presentations, games, a talent show, and general merriment aimed at strengthening our campus and academic community. Students will talk about intriguing mathematics-related problems between 9:00-11:00 a.m (virtual).; Ignite Talks will take place virtually from 12:15 p.m.-1:00 p.m.; we'll be able to have lunch in person as well as play games from 1:00-2:30 p.m.; and there will be in person Math Jeopardy from 2:30-4:00 p.m., followed by Closing and Awards Ceremonies at 4:00 p.m. The Talent Show will be virtual with videos posted to the main Department of Mathematics Day website, given below.

The event is open to all and we would very much appreciate everyone virtually stopping by, mingling with our students and faculty, and participating in any of the ongoing games and events.

For a detailed schedule and links to the festivities, please visit the Department of Mathematics Day site.

With kindest regards,
