Bob Levine Memorial Travel and Research Award
Bob Levine was an award-winning professor and former department chair for the Department of Psychology. He was a treasured and widely-admired colleague whose considerable academic achievements and irrepressible curiosity were matched only by his inexhaustible kindness and deep humility.
This award, first established in 2019, honors Bob’s life and his commitment to improving
the lives of others. As a passionate advocate for the involvement of students in psychological
research, one could invariably count on finding Bob’s warm smile making the rounds
at student presentations and talks, always listening with care and genuine interest.
In addition to being an award-winning professor, Bob was often recognized for his
inspiring and gentle mentorship.
To further cement his legacy as an avid supporter of student research, the Bob Levine Memorial Travel and Research Award provides a mechanism for students to offset some of the financial costs of participating in the research process, whether it be for equipment, participant reimbursement, and/or travel to regional, national, or international conferences to present the results of their hard work.
Acceptable Uses
Funds may be used to cover expenses associated with the dissemination of student research. This includes, but is not limited to: travel expenses, conference registration fees, and memberships in professional organizations if and only if such memberships decrease the price of participation in a conference.
Eigibility Requirements
- Recipient(s) shall be a Fresno State psychology student who has applied to receive funds for travel and/or research purposes.
- Preference for first generation student(s).
- Recipient(s) shall be an undergraduate or graduate student(s).
