The Psychology Department Petitions Process

The Psychology Department's Petitions Process happens before every Fall and Spring semester, in order to help students progress toward graduation if they cannot obtain a seat in a needed class through standard registration procedures.

The dates for the Fall 2025 petitions process have not yet been finalized. The F25 form will become available on July 15, 2025.

Below, please find the dates for the SPRING 2025 semester, to give you a sense of the timing:

  • Submission period. (SPRING 2025: Closed on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:59pm Pacific Time)
    • Students fill out the petition form. (NOTE: the form will only be available during the submission period)
  • Evaluation period (SPRING 2025: Jan 4 - Jan 15, 2025)
    • Committee evaluates all requests
  • Notification period (SPRING 2025: Begins January 15, 2025)
    • Department emails you with a permission number
