The Psychology Department Petitions Process
The Psychology Department's Petitions Process happens before every Fall and Spring semester, in order to help students progress toward graduation if they cannot obtain a seat in a needed class through standard registration procedures.

The Fall 2025 petitions process opens on July 15, 2025.

Below, please find the dates for the FALL 2025 semester, to give you a sense of the timing:
- Submission period. (FALL 2025: Closes on Friday, Aug 1, 2025 at 11:59pm Pacific Time)
- Students fill out the petition form. (NOTE: the form will only be available during the submission period)
- Evaluation period (FALL 2025: Aug 2 - Aug 15, 2025)
- Committee evaluates all requests
- Notification period (FALL 2025: Begins August 15, 2025)
- Department emails you with a permission number
