The Psychology Department Petitions Process

The Psychology Department's Petitions Process happens before every Fall and Spring semester, in order to help students progress toward graduation if they cannot obtain a seat in a needed class through standard registration procedures.

The Spring 2026 petitions process opens on December 16, 2025.

The petitions form for Spring 2026 is no longer available. (Please see below for details)

Below, please find the dates for the SPRING 2026 semester, to give you a sense of the timing:

• Submission period. (SPRING 2026: Closes on Sunday, Jan 4, 2026 at 11:59pm Pacific Time)
  • Students fill out the petition form. (NOTE: the form will only be available during the submission period)
• Evaluation period (SPRING 2026: Jan 4 - Jan 15, 2026)
  • Committee evaluates all requests
• Notification period (SPRING 2026: Begins Jan 15, 2026)
  • Department emails you with a permission number
