Congratulations to Drs. Marilyn Wilson and Hong Ni for their receipt of a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education/Office of Special Education! This is a 5-year training grant to improve services and outcomes for high need children with disabilities, and includes stipends for our school psychology graduate students. Please visit the College of Science and Mathematics website for more information.

Grant Recipients: National Science Foundation

Congratulations to Drs. Paul Price & Andrew Smith (alumnus, B.A. in Psychology '03; now Assistant Professor at Appalachian State University in North Carolina) for their receipt of a $120,000 grant from the National Science Foundation's program in Decision, Risk, & Management Sciences! The grant is focused on understanding people's judgments of averages. Results may provide new insights into how quantitative information is represented in the mind/brain, and may suggest ways to elicit more accurate judgments of averages from people in medical, business, and other contexts. The project will involve numerous student research assistants at both universities. It will also involve the development of a teaching module on the funding of scientific research that will be appropriate for inclusion in courses on research methods in psychology.
