Monday July 16

Teaching

Learn about Comprehensive Universities and focus on best practices for crafting vitae. Hear from Department Chairs stories of rock star versus bad karaoke applicants. Modify vitae in small groups. Receive personalized feedback from mentors. In the evening, dine at a local watering hole, and visit Fresno's only speakeasy.

Getting the Job

Learn about writing, teaching, and research statements, and practice in small groups responding to typical interview questions posed during an academic job search. Receive personalized feedback from mentors. In the evening, relax with delicious Armenian delicacies then hit a funky beer bar.

Learn best practices for combining teaching and research at a Comprehensive University. Practice describing your research focus in a compelling and convincing manner. Receive personalized feedback from mentors. In the evening, explore Fresno on your own, then rejoin the group for the best ice cream ever.

Keeping the Job: Teaching and Research and Service

Learn about combining teaching, research, and service all together to create a balanced and bountiful life at a Comprehensive University. Practice teaching a concept in STEM. Receive personalized feedback from mentors. In the evening, visit Fresno's finest food trucks in a local nursery, then hit the art scene at Art Hop.
