Courses Taught
Brandy finished her Chemistry Master’s degree with Distinction in 2019 as the Department of Chemistry’s Outstanding Graduate Student and as a two-time alumnus of Fresno State. She went on to explore industry as the Supervisor for the Wet Lab of a local analytical lab before returning to academia. During lockdown, she was instrumental in creating an online Canvas Lab course shell for the Geology Department at Clovis Community College, which included coordinating take home lab kits for every student that could not attend in person. She returned to Fresno State as a part time Lecturer in the Fall of 2021 and became the Coordinator for the NIH-Bridges to the Doctorate, NIH-RISE, and USDA-FreSH Programs in Spring 2022. All three programs are designed to support students in their journey to PhD Programs upon completion of their degrees at Fresno State. Brandy’s goal in teaching is to make Chemistry and Biochemistry as accessible as possible to everyone she encounters, while utilizing inquiry-based and hands on approaches whenever possible.
