I specialize in nanomaterials, analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, and biomedical applications. I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and later worked in MIT’s Department of Biological Engineering as a Postdoctoral Associate, Senior Postdoctoral Associate, and Research Associate (Scientist level). At Fresno State, our Nano Analytics Lab develops and characterizes magnetic and fluorescent nanomaterials for biomedical sensing, catalysis, and environmental remediation, with recent work expanding into multifunctional quantum and perovskite-inspired materials.
Current projects: Our Nano Analytics Lab at Fresno State integrates nanomaterial synthesis, X-ray spectroscopy, and computational modeling to investigate photoluminescence, self-trapped exciton emission, magnetic response, and environmental stability, with applications in multimodal bioimaging, PFAS sensing and remediation, magnetic separation, and electro-catalysis.
