The Advising and Resources Center is located in Science 1, Room 136.

Appointments can be virtual or in-person for the Spring 2023 Semester.  When emailing for an appointment please clarify if you would like to be seen virutally or in person.

All walk-ins will be held virtually via Zoom (or phone) for the Spring 2023 semester. Information regarding walk-ins can be found below.

Advising Information

  • Creating an Academic Plan
  • Updating a previously created academic plan
  • Clearing Mandatory Advising 1 Warnings, and Mandatory Advising 2 holds
    • Note: We contact students with Probation, Freshman Advising, and Transfer Advising Holds directly. Please do not ask for these appointments. Instead, check your email for further information.
  • Returning/Readmitted students

  • Major/Minor changes within CSM (Except Psychology, which may be by appointment until further notice)
  • Graduation check
  • Class registration questions
  • Petition questions
  • Change of Grading Basis questions
  • Review of pre-professional requirements (no academic planning)
  • Quick questions

Admissions questions must be directed to our Admissions Liaison Lynn Jaschke ( We will not be able to see any new Fall 2023 freshman or transfer student before their Summer Dog Day for an appointment or walk-in.

Effective Fall 2022, the process has changed in regards to the following requests. Please contact the Advising and Resources Center in Science 1, Room 136 (or via phone at 559.278.4150 or email at for assistance with:

  • Major Change to Psychology/Pre-Psychology
  • Adding a Double Major in Psychology/Pre-Psychology
  • Adding a minor in Psychology
  • Create/Edit an Academic Plan
  • PSYCH 63 assignment
  • Lift an Advising Hold
    • Note: Transfer Advising and Probation Holds are not included. You will be contacted to schedule this appointment

Quick questions regarding grad checks, class registration, petition questions and other related items may be referred to our Virtual Walk-Ins. We appreciate your patience at this time while we undergo this transition of services.

Virtual Walk-in Advising Dates

“Walk-In” Advising will be held via Zoom until further notice. Our walk-ins are typically held every Wednesday and are meant for quick questions only.

Spring 2023 Zoom "Walk-In" Days and Times: 

  • Every Wednesday (January 11th - May 10th): 9-11am and 1:30-4pm

First Week of the Spring 2023 Semester Zoom "Walk-In" Days and Times

  • Thursday, January 19th: 9-11am and 1:30-4pm
  • Friday, January 20th: 9-11am and 1:30-4pm

Fall 2023 Registration Stampede Zoom "Walk-In" Days and Times

  • Monday - Friday, April 3rd - 7th (Spring Break): 9-11am and 1:30-4pm
  • Monday - Friday, April 10th - 14th (Fall 2023 Registration Week): 9-11am and 1:30-4pm

Important Information Regarding Walk-Ins:

Beginning at 8am each "walk-in" day, sign up for our Zoom Walk-Ins using this Google Form. You must use your Fresno State email address to sign up for walk-ins.

  • Submissions received via email or before 8:00 am on walk-in days will not be included. You will be provided with the Zoom link after completing your submission. You can also call into a zoom session if video does not work for you.
  • We cannot see incoming Freshman or Transfer students prior to their Dog Day.
  • No first-time academic planning or Probation holds will be handled during our “Walk-In” days. You must schedule an appointment for these.
  • "Walk-Ins" are a first-come, first-served basis.  Due to a high number of students requesting advising services, wait times may be long.
