At Fresno State Computer Science, we work hard to ensure your success. Therefore,
we have identified a number of MUST-DO checklists for each of your academic year.
It is critical that you make sufficient progress towards your final degree.

- Get basic understanding about Computer Science and Fresno State
- Visit our program/curriculum page
- Make appointment with advisor
- Get a laptop and be prepare to do programming tasks
- Make appointment with advisor for course registration every semester
- Take CSci 40 and CSci 60 in the first semester
- Take CSci 41 in the second semester
- Take Math 75 within the first two semesters
- Be ready to establish more programming skills
- Make appointment with advisor for course registration every semester
- Take required major courses such as 112, 113, 115, and 119
- Get involved in CSCI student club
- Make appointment with advisor for course registration every semester
- Finish most of the required courses
- Take at least one course of a sequence
- Take at least two elective courses
- Get familiar with undergraduate student research opportunities
- View job board for summer internship opportunities
- Consider applying graduate school
- Make appointment with an advisor for a detail academic plan for graduation
- Finish W requirement as early as possible
- Finish ALL required courses
- Meet elective requirement: "one sequence + five additional electives + one second course in a sequence" or "one sequence + five additional electives + senior project"
- Contact a faculty advisor for senior project (CSci198) opportunities
- Prepare a professional resume, attend career fairs, and ready for a job offer after graduation
- Apply graduate school
