NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)
Synopsis of Program:
The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to help ensure the vitality and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce in the United States. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees in fields within NSF's mission. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant achievements in science and engineering research. The ranks of NSF Fellows include numerous individuals who have made transformative breakthroughs in science and engineering research, many who have become leaders in their chosen careers, and some who have been honored as Nobel laureates.
For each year of support, NSF provides a stipend of $30,000 to the Fellow and a cost-of-education allowance of $10,500 to the degree-granting institution.See the following link for the NSF announcement and additional details:

($30,000 per year) and tuition support for students through the National Science Foundation.

Minorities Striving and Pursuing Higher Degrees of Success (MS PHD’S) in Earth System Science Initiative
The MS PHD’s Program facilitates mentoring and networking activities for minority undergraduate and graduate Earth system science and engineering majors, and provides a supportive environment in which participants develop strategies and professional skills necessary to excel in Earth system science and engineering fields.
