Career Changers

Approximately 50% of future science and mathematics teachers are coming from a pool of individuals who have had prior careers in other areas of endeavor and who have decided to begin a new career in teaching science. The Science and Mathematics Education Center has important support structures (financial and programmatic) to help make the transition to a new career in teaching science or mathematics as smooth as possible.  It is important to know that you are not alone as we are seeing an increasing number of science and mathematics teachers coming to us from other careers. We need your talents and experience in the science and or mathematics classroom. SMEC can help you succeed.
