Fresno State RISE Program

Research-intensive faculty members of the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) at Fresno State will create a highly interactive program to encourage undergraduate students from underrepresented groups to engage in biomedical research and pursue a Ph.D. after graduating. 

A goal of RISE is to create a pipeline to the Ph.D. by providing academic training and research experiences to increase the number of Fresno State students pursuing doctorates in the areas of biomedical research.

Prepare students for successful applications to a Ph.D. Program
  • Increase the competitiveness of RISE students for entry into top-ranked Ph.D. programs

 Develop level-appropriate scientific and research skills
  • Students will participate in meaningful and extensive first-hand research experiences

 Promote a high level of academic success

 Develop strategic knowledge and tactical skills for a thriving biomedical research career
