Dr. Swami is an Assistant Professor at Fresno State and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She was trained in the combined Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology Ph.D. Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As such, she aims to bring more of her clinical training into her work. Additionally, her research focuses on experiences of racism and discrimination of youths and the integration and application of social justice principles and multiculturalism into the work (research and applied) we do with children, their families, and school systems.

She is also the Asian Pacific Islander Co-Chair of the National Association of School Psychologists and the Chair of the Division on South Asian Americans, a subdivision of the Asian American Psychological Association.
